Custom interactions with Detent

Build anything on it

Detent does the hard part: touch, mouse and keyboard input, the throw, the snap, the accessibility. On every frame it hands you where the wheel is and how fast it moves, through subscribe, outside React. What you draw with that is up to you.

Each of these is a plain useDetent under a canvas, and nothing else. Throw them: same physics as every picker on this page. Focus one and use the arrow keys: it is still a listbox.

Liquid

A WebGL shader: cards stretch toward the edges, smear with speed and split into color at the outline.

Dust

Words made of particles. Swipe sideways: each one comes apart and flies into the next, and a fast throw scatters them wider.

Riso

Photos printed in two inks as a halftone. Turn it: each print dissolves into the next, dot by dot, and speed pulls the plates out of register.
